Courtney was shat on by a bat!!!Nice win for us tonight. We really came out aggressive on defense in the first half and it showed with the half time score being 35-9. We are a team that feeds off our defense, so with great communication, rotations, and rebounding we were able to run into our offense and get some easy scores to start the game. It was really an unselfish, exciting team effort tonight We started the game moving the ball well and hitting the open man, soon Mexico realized they needed to go into a zone to try take us out of our motion/Princeton offense. Its always a compliment when a team needs to change up their defense because they don’t know how to stop you. Mexico came out of the half fired up and with something to prove. They hit some shots and the game got a little more physical and scrappy. We showed we aren’t a team that is going to back down when people start pushing us around, but I think we also did a great job of keeping our composure. We had a very balanced game with everyone seeing playing time and putting up good numbers in the minutes they were on the court. Liz was perfect from the field scoring 7 pts, and also pulling down 4 brds. Kal was our high scorer tonight knocking down 6 of her 12 shots and scoring from everywhere on the floor for 15pts. Teresa pulled down 6 rebounds and had two nice steals to go along with her 5 pts. It was really a team effort and everyone contributed. We outrebounded Mexico 40-36, and shot 44% from 3
Oh on a side note Courtney did get shat on by a bat in the gym. We were in a timeout and a sure enough on her white warm-up top was a nice little brown bat poop. It was hilarious, she insists it means good luck. Insight to all our followers we have heard that if a bird poops on you its good luck, does the same go for bats?Now time for a leg flush with our awesome trainers, Joanie and Marcel, then off to bed to get ready for our game against Brazil tomorrow.Remember you can watch our games delayed on TSN2.Go CANADA!!!!
