We bounced back tonight and beat China 67-66. Not only did we win but also we closed out a close game, which is something we really struggled with last year. The game was close throughout, each team would go on a little run and the other would answer. Our bench was great tonight they came in focused and ready. Kal was a perfect 6/6 from the floor! T was driving past the taller slower bigs all night to the tune of 15 points. Krista had a monster board with 30 seconds left that forced them to foul Ree who knocked down both free throws putting us up 3. With one second left China hit a two pointer to give us the final score 67-66.

The gym was scorching tonight. Our amazing doctor Sarah and physio Marcel were busy filling up our water bottles with E-load (a recovery drink, that we think is a step above Gatorade) and fanning us down during time outs. Not sure how we would survive without those two. They will be pretty busy in the next few days as the floor we are playing on feels a lot like cement.

We got to play in front of another loud crowd; about 3000 fans packed the stadium. They had an interesting way of attempting to cool down the gym. Giant blocks of ice in front of a single fan. Can’t say you could notice but maybe the temperature would have been worse.

We just need to continue to improve everyday and end phase two on a high note. No game tomorrow but sight seeing and practice.
