While I was getting ready the other morning, I overheard on the TV that the olympic games in BC get started in 80 some odd days. I can not wait. I don't follow any of those sports in particular except maybe the hockey, but how great is it the we are hosting the games. And in my home city! I'm still planning on heading overseas to play after Christmas, so I'll miss everything, but I'm totally ready to take on the world. Really cool, hope our athletes do well. All our sports need more funding so hopefully some good performances can help with everyone getting some sponsors.

In a sad bit of news from this past week, the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA folded. Sacramento made me not only a first round pick out of college but a member of their team and community for three seasons. I had nothing but a great time playing for Sacramento. They had some of the best fans with the best facilities, and it was super close to the airport which is awesome when you have to travel as much as we did. I was able to become good friends with my teammates but also all the people involved with the team. Managers, trainers, doctors, security guards, janitors, event staff heck the whole city treated us like kings(not a pun). I got to play for a WNBA championship and have nothing but fond memories for the place.
It is my hope that the team can relocate to the Bay Area or somewhere that just has a bit more of a surrounding population. I strongly feel that a women's professional league can survive in North America. The women's game is constantly growing and this is great way to gain exposure. Yes there are many things that could use some changing(marketing, expenses, playing style), but I've seen it work. Sad to see them go.

I've been in states visiting friends and training the past couple of weeks. The college basketball season has started here and is all over the TV. I am a big college basketball fan. I Love me some Dick Vitale. Makes me want to get back in the gym and keep playing. And speaking of getting stoked to play, you all have probably seen it, the NIke advertisement about our hockey team. If you haven't seen it go to you tube immediately and type nike-canada-force fate. GO CANADA.

I'm going home first week of December through the holidays. Hopefully all us BC girls can get together, Hang out, have dinner maybe even play a little bit. Check back soon!
