YELLOW :)
Hello all! First let me explain the title of this blog: The color yellow is a bright, fun and happy colour as many of you know. What many of you do not know is that it became somewhat of a Team Canada colour this past summer. We felt the colour yellow truly encompassed a positive outlook and attitude. It was a way to help ourselves or our teammates as a "pick me up" for any and every reason. When yellow was broken out via clothes or nail polish, we were 100% confident that the day was going to be amazing.
This blog is entitled YELLOW because I had the most yellow month, and I'm so excited to share it with you all:)
The first yellow thing that happened to me this month was that I acquired a new and fantastic teammate named Lizanne Murphy. Lizanne has been a member of the National team for a few years, but was unable to play with us this summer as she was preparing for her huge comeback from a knee injury. Well the huge comeback has happened ... Lizanne is playing great out here, and having a teammate and friend overseas is a true blessing.
The second yellow thing that happened is that my boyfriend Austin came to visit! Austin was here for a couple weeks and got to see 4 games. It was his first time to Europe and I'm pretty sure he made more friends in two weeks than I have in the few months I've been out here.
Another yellow moment was my birthday was this month! I got all kinds of birthday love via email, facebook, and now Canada Basketball blog. Pretty incredible actually!
Next on the yellow list is that we started our Eurocup season! Our team (Ruzomberok) is in a pool with Lemminkainen (from Lithuania), Montpellier (from France) and Madeira (from Portugal). We won our first game vs. Lemminkainen and lost to Montpellier, but we are playing well, and are confident that we will move onto the next round.
Thanks for your continued support! And just remember, if ever you're feeling down, find something yellow and wear it. It works wonders and will turn any frown upside down! Until next time!
