Post Qualifier/Post Surgery

Hello All!
About a week after returning from Qualifiers, I came down with a nasty cold, which was inevitable after going so intensely for so long. Knowing that I was having surgery a week later, I did everything I could to combat the cold. Unfortunately, the cold did not go away and thankfully the surgery took place last Thursday.

I made it to almost 30 years old without having a surgery…not bad, eh? I had a scope done on my ankle to clean up some bone spurs and bone chips that were inhibiting the mobility in my ankle. Right now, two days post-surgery, I am sitting on the couch starting the recovery process. I will get my stitches out in two weeks, and at that time I will be able to start biking and getting some physio. At three weeks I can start doing some swimming, and at six weeks I get to do some running if I have to pain or swelling. All in all, not so shabby! In two months I should be back to pretty close to 100% if all goes well.

I also want to take the opportunity to thank my wonderful teammates and coaches who made this past summer one of the most memorable summers to date. This group of women are the kind of people that any parent would want their daughter to aspire to be. Thanks for the memories!

And last but not least…thank you to all the supporters, followers, and fans. It is always nice to know that even though we may not play in our home country very often, we still have people who show interest and follow our progress. Thank you!
Cheers, Teresa Gabriele
