Moving on!!!

We are moving onto the semi's!! We out rebounded Jamaica 50-24, which was huge their offense is centered around their two low post players and our big players were giants inside tonight. We held the tournaments leading scorer to only a few points all off free throws, she was 0-15! As a team they shot only 28% from the field. Our defense really frustrated them! Great job Canada.

On the offensive end we really came out strong and pushing the ball. We had great contributions scoring from everyone. It was one of our best team efforts. We are really starting to click, you can see that all the hard work over this summer and last is paying off. We are such an unselfish team, we make the extra pass, get our teammates open, help on defense all over the court and really enjoy playing with each other.

One area we need to work on is our turnovers. We have been prone and we need to cut them down. We had 19 tonight but only 7 in the half. We can live with 14 a game but not 19. I think we came out a little over excited tonight which led to a few early turnovers. We only had two in the third quarter, and i feel like this was our best third quarter performance we have had. We normally come out a little sluggish after half, but not today.

Together as a team we have accomplished one of our goals, we have at least qualified for the pre-olympic tournament next June. We aren't stopping there though, we play Argentina in the semi's and we know it is going to be a battle of who wants it more. WE DO!!!

Lets go Canada!
