Coming home!

We lost to Russia today. We started the game really slow it was 22-9 in the first quarter. We were a little timid against their size, hesitating on shots worried that we would be blocked. We snapped out of it and played better the second period. In the third and fourth we battled back and went on some big runs. At the end of the game we hit a three and forced a turnover. Not too shabby since we have not worked on pressing at all. With ten seconds left we tried to run an out of bounds play and tweak it a little for a 3 pointer but it didn't quite work out. We fouled at the end trying to get the rebound and wound up losing by five. We have to clean up our starts and put together 40 minutes of good basketball. We have gained a lot of confidence over here competing against some of the best teams in the world. We can't wait for September!

Now we have 6 weeks to get better individually before we get back together. We are all so excited to go home and hang out with family and friends. We have been in Europe for a long time and while we had a blast there is nothing quite like home. We meet up again in Abbotsford, BC on the 24th of July.
