Half day

The first few days of camp have felt really hectic.  Between meetings, practices, lifting and treatments it feels like we have not had any time to sit down and breath!  Today was our first much appreciated break. We practiced once in the morning.  After practice we headed to the Langley Events Centre to take team pictures by Paul Yates.  He is the same photographer that designed our header on the blog.  We got a chance to check out a few of the Basketball BC provincial teams in action while waiting for our pictures.

We started out a little slow in our scrimmages this morning but the final 20 minutes we executed better and had our best looking games to date.  We still have a long way to go but much better than day 1.
This year we have had to run for turnovers, or bad plays.  Today we were put on the line and it was not just a down and back but a full set of lines.  Just as we started running Allison yelled out "28 seconds or we run it again".  We do not have a lazy team when we are put on the line every single person sprints as hard as they can.  Nobody crossed the line before 30 seconds.  Before you judge us and try and compare your suicide times please keep in mind we have practiced 5 in a row, lifted, and ran the beep.  Allison did not have this in mind when she yelled "again"!  When we bugged Allison about the 28 seconds she laughed and said "well don't turn the ball over and you won't have to run" touché.

Two practices and a lift tomorrow.  Time for bed.
Go Canada!
