Road to London

Sorry for the delayed response but internet went out in our rooms and that meant sitting on the lobby floor to call family and friends. We have moved to a new hotel and thus far the internet is working well!

We have two games under our belts thus far this summer. Both were losses but we are much improved from last summer.

Against Cuba we started very slow. We were stagnant on offense and lacked any sort of flow in transition that resulted in us being down fourteen points early. We kept battling and whittled the lead down to six, it went back to fifteen and we eventually got it to within three. We had a few chances at the end of the game but lacked execution down the stretch. Defensively we were great, we kept them off the offensive glass. We gave up a little too much middle penetration but all things that we will improve upon with more games.

Last night we played Spain. Spain finished third at last years world championships, they are a great offensive team. We started the game well had a bit of a lead and wound up going down to the wire with them. The ball rolled around the rim a few times and just wouldn't seem to drop for us. While it is never fun to lose we are taking solace in the fact that we are only two weeks into our summer training. The only games that matter come at the end of September.
