December Already!!

Wow! It's hard to believe that it's already December and Christmas is so close. Novemeber was a good month for me though as I started getting to actually do some impact training as my ankle is finally getting better. I feel like my physio is my new best friend with the amount of time I spend with her, but she's really awesome and has been great in treating my injury so far. I sustained a very high velocity inversion sprain while we were in Brazil that unfortunately created a substantial bone bruise and instability at my talocrural joint. My talus and fibula were split or splayed as the talus rolled thru into inversion on landing, so as a result of this, I've had to wear an aircast at most times for the past 2 months. Not the best fashion accessory, but it will ensure that it will heal properly and I won't have ongoing problems with my ankle.

Probably around mid-November I started getting to more running and basketball specific things, which was very exciting for me cause as fun as swimming is I was ready to retire from aquasize. My physio actually moves her patients to "on-field" physio when they're ready which allows them to do more sport specific and active exercises with her in a larger space. I have lucked out because of the bad weather and have gotten to do "in-gym" physio so have not had to bear the cold weather. I have told her I would like to stick with the in gym sessions since I play an indoor sport it only seems appropriate. I'm excited because Kim gets home next week and Teresa should be running in a week, so hopefully we'll all be able to train together.

I also had my official graduation this month. I actually finished my coursework in May, but since it was the summer end date graduation it didn't happen until November. So now I can officially say: Leanne Evans, Bachelor of Human Kinetics. I posted my grad picture here too so you can see me in my hat. Lastly, I figured since it is the beginning of December I should make a Christmas themed video, so for your enjoyment - starring: Kim, Teresa, Chelsea, Jordan and Natalie.
